Lash Stash Check In #2

It's that time again!  For my second mascara assessment I chose Josie Maran's GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara in black. ($22)  This one falls in the volume boosting category and claims to naturally plump & curl while the added Argan supports hair growth.  I just finished my first week of usage and I'm not going to lie, I immediately doubted this one.  It's brush was super bushy and after application, it left black particles on my skin that smudged pretty bad when I went to wipe them off.  When all was said and done, my lashes did look good.  It shouldn't be such an obstacle though!  I doubt I'll be purchasing this mascara in the future and you'll definitely need makeup remover to get rid of this one.  Beware of the raccoon!

This mascara gets a B.
Stay tuned, there are 8 more to go!

DIY Determined #1

So, I finally just hung my finished product. (yay!) I've been dying to post this, but couldn't do it before I snapped a final shot while hanging on the wall.  Here's my rendition of the fun DIY project I posted 2 weeks ago.  Eager to try, I immediately headed to eBay where I found some perfect pieces of driftwood to begin my project.  My husband thinks I'm wiggity because I spent money on nature.  However, did you see what happened above?  Can you say, fabulous?  I ended up ditching the key hook idea and used mine for my gems.  I still have to paint my hooks white, but I still love it so.

DIY Gucci Inspired Tassel Belt

This is major.
Here's what you'll need:
at least 2.5 yards of rope
2 pieces of leather of a similar color measuring 3.5 x 4.5 inches
2 small nuts
2 half inch compression nuts from the hardware store
4 wooden beads
a glue gun, ruler, pen & a pair of sharp scissors
Here's what you'll do:
Start by cutting fringe into the leather to make the tassels.
Draw a line 1/4″ from the edge of the length of the leather, serving as the guideline.
Using the ruler draw parallel lines about 1/8″ apart, along the width of the leather.
Carefully cut along those lines, stopping at the guideline each time.
Add any combination of beads & nuts to the end of the rope, making sure to string the large nut lastly with the opening facing out. (see middle pic above)
Glue the end of the rope to upper left corner of the leather with hot glue.
Tightly roll the leather along the guideline.
Repeat on the other side of your rope and voila!
You’ve just made a fantastic Gucci inspired tassel belt, enjoy!

Wooden Dreams

I've been on the hunt for a headboard.  This one is so incredible, (and if you think about it very frugal) I couldn't not post and share.  I'm infatuated by it & since I'm rather crafty, I must reproduce this very soon. #watchoutforsplinters

Dapper Dress Forms

I literally harassed myself for years looking for a dress form until three years ago when my Mom's Craigslist addiction (that I've now inherited) paid off.  She totally scored!  Not one, but two of them, the woman selling them insisted that they sold as a pair.  End result: One for me and one for Charm!  I always imagined "dressing it up" but could never decide how.  Mine's been sitting in my garage for just about two years now and coming across these pictures is absolutely enticing me to bring it back inside.  I smell another DIY project on the horizon!

Haute Louboutin Mani

Love. Love. Love.  However, I'd never let my nails grow to this daggerish length so I won't be sporting this Louboutin inspired manicure anytime soon.  Great idea though!
