Versatile Vegetables

I've got a case of the boredom blues.  One good thing about being stuck at home is watching Rachel Ray for new cooking inspiration.  Here's a great idea she came up with for kids-on-the-go, I'll be doing this next week for sure.  I know I'm not the only one that has a million of these containers piled up in the cabinet, I'm excited to put them to use.  Try the carrot dip recipe below!

Here's what you'll need:

  • -2 cups Greek yogurt
    -Juice of 1 lemon
    -1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
    -1 clove grated garlic
    -Salt & pepper
-Assorted veggies (carrots, celery, bell pepper, or zucchini)
  • Here's what you'll do:
  • -Preheat oven 425
-Toss carrots in EVOO & sprinkle with salt/pepper
-Roast until tender, about 20 minutes
-Process carrots in food processor until pureed & smooth
-Add remaining ingredients and process till smooth
  • Fill bottom of your container with dip, add veggies & enjoy the next day!

Golden Globe Glamour

My favorite dress to hit the red carpet for The Golden Globes was worn by Kyra Sedgwick.  She donned a ruffled Emilio Pucci that I immediately fell in love with, probably because it was orange.
Second runner up must go to Olivia Wilde, who wore the most perfect princess dress made by Marchesa.  I love that under all that feminine sparkle, she rocked some spiked Louboutin booties.  Pure hotness.
My favorite hair of the night goes to none other than Mrs. Bullock, this might inspire me to cut bangs again after growing them out all summer.  Not loving this dress so much, but the hair is perfection.
While I wasn't feelin her pepto bismol colored dress by Oscar, Lea Michele's spiked Louboutin's more than made up for this dress mishap.

A Pretty Penny

Here's an amusing piece of random information.  The $0.01 copper penny costs more to make than it's actually worth.  The price tag of producing a penny is literally $1.62!  That's crazytown.

DIY Painted Driftwood Key Hook

Inspired by the above painting by Ginette Lapalme, I must find some driftwood as soon as possible to make the below DIY idea for my house.  I simply adore this and had to share, it can't take more than an hour to do this whole project, you probably have a few of the necessities lying around the house anyway.  I think I'll leave the gold hooks for the pics, I'm going with silver or white!  Check the pics below, I can't wait.

My new mission: Find the perfect piece of driftwood!
Things you need:
driftwood
acrylic paint
hooks
wood glue
pair of pliers
a drill
2 screws

Lumbar Letup

Let's just say that I bought myself some cherries this morning, I'll use any excuse to eat more guacamole and I'm not surprised at all to hear about the green tea, I've sworn by it for years.  My husband swears that milk does nothing for humans once they reach double digits in age, lol.  Channel 9 just straight up confirmed that milk, without question, does do a body good.  Sorry V!  Peep the segment I got to see due to a heads up from my favorite roomie ever, Frizzle.

Thanks son!

Lash Stash Check In #1

I'm so excited to do this post!  If you follow my blog you know I got Sephora's Lash Stash for Christmas.  It was a hard decision, but I chose Laura Mercier's Full Blown Volume Building Mascara ($24) for my premiere assessment.  I just got through my first week and I absolutely love this one.  It's very light-weight, never clumps and it glides right on.  Taking it off was a breeze as well, no raccoons over here.

This mascara gets an A++ for sure.
Stay tuned, there are 9 more to go!
