Blooming Bubbly

Let's have a toast for the assholes,
Let's have a toast for the scumbags,
Every one of them that I know..."

Christmukkah Collision

It made me SO happy that Chanukkah fell on Christmas this year, I loved seeing all the decorations mixed in together!
This time of year is my husbands fav, he gets so giddy and is literally still singing Christmas Carols. That being said, when I packed up every last piece of holiday decor  yesterday, he was a little depressed when he got home from work. I thought I'd post some pics from our big soiree, he can now deck the halls anytime he wants. 3.
I searched for weeks to find the perfect table centerpiece, you can always count on the home section (normally upstairs) at Kohls, this turned out to be 50% off. It was originally $29.99, so with my coupon and credit card discount, it was under $10, such a score!
Is that a beer bottle or is Swan flipping Sally the bird?!?  I'm so darn proud of my table setup.
Sally's favorite ornament:)
My favorite candle holders, thanks Ma!  Recognize the surface they're sitting on?
A peek at our yummy new kitchen, remember our backsplash quandary? And the faucet? And my breadbox!
I told you I'd be trying this, it totally jazzed up our backyard. I actually left the kitchen blinds open some nights just to see them!
Yummmmm. I spy a Brinley Gold Rum Cake!!
And our Charlie Brown Poinsettia, LOL
Our twelve person feast was deeeeericious.
The FAKE fireplace...
And the REAL fireplace!
Time to put it all away, now where do I begin?
Some self-timer action, I barely made it in!
Best. Christmukkah. Yet.

Confetti Countdown

Matchbox confetti holders! Isn't this a fantastic idea for New Years? It's budget friendly and would be super fun at a wedding too.

DIY Determined #12

I saw this DIY project over the summer and promised myself I'd meet the challenge of gluing one thousand coffee filters to a styrofoam ring, yes that's correct, I literally used A THOUSAND! My glue gun and I have been hard at work for almost a month now, what a tedious process, but well worth the effort, check out my finished wreath:

DIY Determined #11

When Mom told me she had 25 wine glasses that I could have for our soiree, I quickly pulled out my paintbrush and this picture I've had saved for months.
Guests had a really hard time misplacing their drinks at my house, the chalkboard painted stem is not only brilliant, but was a sure hit with everyone! Here's my final product:
So cute, right?
Happy Holidays! -SaLLy

Happy Hanukkah

I'm a few days late as tonight's the third night, but whatever, Happy Hanukkah/Chanukah, y'all! Remember my Menorah Makeover? I found some ombre Hanukkah candles at Target that get along mighty well with Mom's thrifty find, here's my setup from the first night. Now bring on the latkes!

Marshmallow Methanol

I'm totally acquiring this Amber Rose supported Vodka for our Holiday Housewarming this weekend. After countless days of trying to ponder up a bev using the Marshmallow flavor, all I could come up with was adding it to Hot Cocoa. That's definitely a party-of-one drink ;) Today a dear friend of mine gave me the genius idea of  making S'mores Shooters! Here's the components: Graham cracker rimmed glass + Hershey's syrup + table cream + Marshmallow Vodka = the drink my guests (yup, fellas too) will be shooting as they enter our holiday decked house, cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving

I've got so much to be thankful for this year, my family and friends being the most important. Without their support, I really don't know where I'd be. I'm also thankful for my longtime knack with hair. I'm beyond lucky to have such an amazing skill and even more fortunate to have a huge command of very loyal clients. Now, last but not certainly not least, I'm thankful for our freshAss new house, there is something about "owning" a home that leaves such a sense of fulfillment. What are you thankful for? I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday as much as I did!

Halloween Hysteria

First and foremost I need to wish my bear Barkley, a Happy 4th Birthday! With all the Halloween festivities going down yesterday, it was near impossible committing to another post.
I had the greatest idea to be an Angry Bird for Halloween, but wasn't able to construct the costume to my liking. After deciding last week that I would not dress up, these here GC's inspired my change of mind. Can you believe there was no line whatsoever and I was in and out in less than ten minutes? #winning
My plan was to mimic the Vanilla Birthday flavor from Georgetown Cupcake...
My mission definitely got accomplished and although I didn't take home a prize from the office, my picture totally got posted on Facebook by GC themselves!
Yes I took a screenshot, I'm so proud!
