Digitally Dignified

A girlfriend of mine is taking a stab at invitation's for her daughters communion and during their photo shoot Alexa had some sort of allergic reaction, you can see a faint red line between her bottom lip and chin.  No joke, as soon as they were finished shooting, she said that line disappeared.  I'm so glad she came to me for this, I actually took a photoshop class specifically for photography and felt ecstatic when I made that fix and also brightened the entire photo in under twenty minutes.  #gosally

DIY Determined #14

Oh. My. Goodnessss. This project was so flippin easy that I'm already pondering my phrase for a larger one!  I've had the below painting of the sunflowers forever, I was about to give it away when I randomly found some inspiration that made me hold onto it for dear life.  The original project used song lyrics, but I opted for a line from Cinderella, which was my favorite childhood movie.  All you need is an old painting, some nylon letters and spray paint.  It's very hard to mess this up, now go, you don't need to be crafty at all to do this.
This is what made me save that painting,
it's so simple yet has SO much impact.

Frosting 101

Here's a fun tutorial on how to ice the perfect cupcake, frosting guru Glory (Glorious Treats) even offers her buttercream and cream cheese recipes.  After going through her entire blog I discovered she is the originator if the infamous Hydrangea Cupcake, this totally makes me want to whip out my baking pans, but my husband would kill me!

Pallet Gardens

I think it's safe to say that I've got a major obsession with pallets.  It all started with my coffee table and since then my ideas have literally multiplied.  I'm totally taking on this pallet garden challenge, I've luckily ran into an endless supply of clean, spotless pallets.  Total score!  I keep reading that "succulents" are the best kind of plants to use as they don't need a lot of sun.  Going to pick out the plants will be so much fun, I can't wait to get started!  Here's the best tutorial that I've seen yet,  check back for my results in the very near future.

Rejuvenated Rubbish

My pooch and I were strolling the neighborhood a few weeks back when I spotted this in someone's trash, instantly pondering a project.  While waiting for the weather to improve, I thought of so many other great ideas for this trashed piece of crib and now I'm pissed I left the other side on the curb!  I went with my initial magazine rack idea and I'm totally in love.  It'll be super handy in the salon and now the coffee table can finally breathe.

Fulfilling Foyer

I "repinned" this DIY project on pinterest about a month ago, glancing at it every time I had the opportunity.  It'd been a hot minute since we'd done any improving to our house, so this morning we meticulously took note of some measurements and made moves to the nearest Home Depot.
Here's the before & after of our "Board and Batten" foyer! Despite the fact that just about every piece of wood was warped, the tags on the wood were mismarked (throwing all of our tedious measurements off by half a flippin' inch) and the minor matter of this being our first time ever doing something like this, I'd say we successfully killed it!  There's some slight caulking/painting that still needs to be done, but we're in love and can't stop walking by to peek at our new accomplishment.

DIY Determined #13

I discovered this genius solution below and had to give it a go, what a simple way to store all your unsightly bobby pins!  I attached magnetic tape with some gorilla glue to the inside bottom of my medicine cabinet and let it dry overnight.  It's hidden, convenient and only cost me two dollars and some change! #helloamazing

Haunting Headboard

Here's another headboard that's igniting my desire to try and create one of my own.  I've never had a headboard on my bed before and now that we have the perfect wall to do so, it's time to make some moves.  Inevitably baited into a full blown search for salvaged wood, I hope to produce a similar headboard in the very near future, wish me luck!
